Betsafe have been about since 2006 and over the last decade or so have managed to produce quite a reputation for themselves. The company offer up all forms of gambling, including casino and poker, but it’s sports betting that they are best known for and that’s exactly what we will be looking at throughout this article.
Betsafe are an improving bookmaker and when it comes to their pricing, they are definitely one worth considering. Like so many bookmakers that are in the same boat as Betsafe (i.e not really competing with the major bookmakers) they do fall just short of the mark when you compare them to more established brands. It seems al most unfair, but unfortunately for Betsafe, that is the competition, so that’s what we must do. We did find that their American sports section is really competitive though, especially for American football, so if you’re into that, then definitely check out Betsafe.
The market coverage on offer is fairly poor if truth be told. We reviewed Titan Bet earlier and reported that they are offering over 28,000 markets on football, whilst on Betsafe they only have just over 11,000, which is a huge gulf. As bettors, we are spoilt and 11,000 would likely be more than enough for the majority of punters, we always crave more and unfortunately they do lack a little in this section. They do include a huge range of sports though, with everything from bandy to baseball and equestrian to e-sports.
Features
The first feature we want to talk about at Betsafe is the design of the sportsbook. It looks as good as you will find, and we realize that design is often a very subjective matter, but in terms of functionality, it really cant be beaten. We loved the drop down menus in the side bar, which meant you could flick between different events for each sport, and the black on white colour scheme works nicely. We must add that in terms of quality this transpires to the mobile betting app as well, of which can be accessed on all smartphones, simply by visiting the Betsafe bookmaker.
An interesting addition to the Betsafe bookmaker is that of their e-sports betting section. E-sports is a market that is starting to grow with online bookmakers, but there aren’t actually all that many that offer up betting opportunities on it. Again, we wouldn’t say that Betsafe are doing an amazing job covering e-sports, but it’s better than most and should be more than enough for the average punter.
In Play Betting
Betsafe is one of the best bookmakers to use if you are in to your live betting scene. The range of sports on offer is simply awesome and whilst football does still dominate the headlines, like most bookmakers, Betsafe do make sure that all punters are catered for. What we will highlight is that the drop off in terms of markets is pretty huge depending on the sport and the level of the game. For example, we compared one Premier League game to one League 2 game and there was 25 more markets for the Premier League game than the League 2.
The match centre for the in play betting section does leave a little to be desired and to be honest, it’s one of the weakest that we have seen. That doesn’t put us off though and we would happily take the range of sports of the match centre any day.
Live Streaming
One aspect that we were surprised, but very glad to see, was the inclusion of a full live streaming channel. The range of sports that you can view are pretty limited to be honest and certainly don’t compare with the likes of bet365, who probably have the best live streaming channel in the industry. But, the inclusion is great feature for us and there are plenty of bookmakers who don’t offer this at all. We also liked the fact that you could hook this up to the live betting section and view markets as you watched each game.
There seems to be no indication on site of any upcoming games, so it’s tough to really say how in depth this section is. However, the inclusion on it’s own is a massive positive!
